Austin Staton

Austin is an award-winning communicator with more than 13 years of experience. He currently works with the Communications and Advocacy team at bp, is the immediate past president for IABC Houston, and is the founder of two podcasts — The Business Communicators and The Weekly Brew.

Austin is a native of The Woodlands, Texas, and earned a political science degree from Baylor University in 2010.

Hattie Horn

Co-host

Hattie Horn is an award-winning change management and communications practitioner with 20-plus years of experience in external and internal communications. 

In 2020, Hattie was recognized by IABC Houston with three Bronze Quill Awards, including Best in Show, for her employee engagement work as bp rebuilt its facilities following damage sustained from Hurricane Harvey.

Hattie is native of Houston, Texas, and earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and theatre from Prairie View A&M University. #HBCU

Thomas Baen

Co-host

With more than 15 years of marketing experience, Thomas brings experience in all three facets of marketing communications: strategy, execution and measurement/reporting. But in reality his success is measured on growing business outcomes. 

A customer-first belief and ensuring delivery of the right message, at the right time, in the right medium, to the right person has allowed him to move seamlessly across industries. 

Thomas also gives back to the marketing communications in the form of a judge for an international organization awards programs, specializing in complete campaign and measurement.
